É uma árvore com uma beleza estonteante. Cobre-se com grandes flores, em forma de taça. Esta árvore pertence a um género muito antigo. O que é curioso é que, dá primeiro as flores e só depois é que se cobre com folhas. Esta fotografia foi tirada no Jardim Botânico de Coimbra.
