As jamantas (Manta birostris), são peixes cartilagíneos (Chondrichthyes) pelágicos, oceânicos do género Manta e a maior espécie actual de raias. A jamanta tem o corpo em forma de losango e uma cauda longa e provida de um espinho na sua base. Os maiores exemplares atingem tamanhos que podem chegar aos 8m de envergadura. As jamantas alimentam-se de plâncton e pequenos peixes. Há uma jamanta no Oceanário de Lisboa. Não sei se esta fotografia corresponde à jamanta.

A wonderful! they are the most graceful creatures when you're diving, sooooooo big... And their fins are incredibly graceful and fluid Not that I would want to be too close to them!!

All I can say to this is WOW!!!!!!! I have seen manta rays jump out of water, but never from this perspective. Amazing! :)
