just amazing -- i just love natural patterns! and especially when those natural patterns become big enough for humans to 'play' in!! a gorgeous detail here -- these 'pools' are quite small though right? not like the big white ones from before? lovely!!

@João Mourão: Estamos em Pamukkale! :) Todas as imagens que tenho colocado aqui ultimamente são deste local. Vou ainda colocar mais algumas. É um lugar pequeno, que merece a visita de uma tarde, porque o pôr do sol é fabuloso. Mas mais do que isso não. Atrás encontram-se uma ruínas romanas, mas o resto da localidade não tem interesse nenhum e os hóteis são maus.
Pamukkale, castelo de algodão, é um conjunto de piscinas termais de origem calcária que com o passar dos séculos formaram bacias gigantescas de água que desce em cascata numa colina. A formação do Pamukkale deve-se aos locais térmicos quentes por baixo do monte que provocam o derrame de carbonato de cálcio, que depois solidifica como mármore travertino. Todas estas imagens se devem à deposição de sedimentos de carbonato de cálcio. A paisagem é lindíssima, mas pelo que pude perceber a quantidade de água que existia aqui tem vindo a diminuir nas últimas décadas. Foi declarado Património Mundial da UNESCO juntamente com Hierápolis ( a cidade romana, que mencionei atrás) em 1988.
