As peles ainda se levam ao mercado em burros; as tinas para curtir e tingir são construídas com tijolos e azulejos. Além de ser uma das mais antigas artes de Marrocos, que remonta pelo menos a 7000 anos, é também uma das mais fedorentas. É oferecido aos visitantes um raminho de hortelã- pimenta para colocar sob o nariz, evitando assim, de um modo parcial o mau cheiro.

Oh, I've seen this once on t.v.! They are working with leather aren't they?! Must be a very hard job, but it looks great on the picture with all those different baths.

Terrific documentation of an old but interesting human activity. Great composition in which the presence of the worker gives it the right sense of scale.

@Remus: hahaaha..... funciona um pouquinho, mas não comigo, porque estive mais interessada em fotografar do que em cheirar a planta. Ia morrendo intoxicada...

Antes de ler a tua explicação, a primeira coisa que me ocorreu foi: "Meu Deus ela deve ter passado um mau bocado, com o cheiro..." :) Fotógrafo sofre....mas pelo que eu já vi da série (andei da frente para trás) valeu a pena todo o sacrifício!
